HOW TO REACH BOLU

The closest airport to Bolu is Istanbul Atatürk Airport. It is about 260 km away (3 hours by bus, 2.5 hours by car).

Upon your arrival at Istanbul Airport on the 10th of May, you may contact the ERACON 2006 desk. Representatives of the Local Organising Committee will meet you there and assist you with your transfer to Bolu. The desk will be available on 24hrs basis.

The organising committee will offer three complimentary transfers from Istanbul Airport to Bolu. Based on your arrival details that you have sent me the transfers have been arranged as follows:

For Sunday the 14th of May only one transfer will be arranged from Bolu to Istanbul. The transfer will be at 09:00 in the morning from your hotel.

People that will arrive before the 10th of May and they would like to join one of the complimentary transfers, will have to contact the ERACON 2006 desk half an hour before the above scheduled transfers.

People that would like to use the public bus will have to ask the driver to leave them at Koru Hotel in Bolu. From there they will have to take a taxi and go to Taksim International Abant Palace hotel. The cost is approx. 20 Euro (30 YTL). Make sure that you have with you the equivalent Turkish Liras.

For transportation from Istanbul to Bolu, Öz Bolu is one of the bus companies which serve directly to Bolu more frequently. The departure hours from Istanbul bus station is 07.30 - 08.30 - 10.30 - 12.00 - 13.30 - 15.30 - 17.30 - 18.30. Also there are many companies serving nearly half an hour such as Nilufer, Kamil Koc, As74 etc.

Due to a heavy transportation demand, there are a lot of bus companies operating between Istanbul and Bolu. You may get a bus from Istanbul bus station at every half and an hour from 5.00 am in the morning till 1.00 am with several quality and price options. The first class bus companies cost nearly 24 £. The others will be less.
